Alumni
Reconnect and Make an Impact
As a Johns Hopkins alum, you are in a unique position to impact the next generation of Hopkins graduates. You understand and can appreciate the rigors of a Hopkins education. You have used that rigor to advance and excel in your own career. Perhaps you would even credit some of this success to the generosity – gifts of time, funding, opportunity, confidence – of a Hopkins professor, mentor, or fellow alum. By choosing to engage with our current students, you are continuing this powerful tradition of generosity.
HOST AN INTERN
Biomedical Careers Initiative (BCI) internship program seeks partner companies and organizations outside of academia – industry, non-profits, and beyond – who are interested in hosting Hopkins biomedical PhD trainees as interns. The internship gives host sites the opportunity to establish a pipeline of motived students and infuses teams with new perspectives, ideas, and energy.
BE A MENTOR
The Professional Development and Career Office (PDCO) is leading the creation of career working groups – trainee groups that form around a particular area of interest such as business and finance, science communication and advocacy, and research administration. We welcome the involvement of professionals like you who are willing to share expertise via an advisory role for one of these cohorts.
SHARE YOUR STORY
Through the iCAN Speaker Series, you have the opportunity to interact directly with our students by sharing details of your respective career path and answering questions from the audience. If you would like to participate in preparing our students for a career like yours, you may also lead a workshop as part of our OPTIONS Career Communities.
There are many ways to interact and engage with our biomedical PhD students and postdoctoral fellows. Contact us today at phd_recruit@jhmi.edu today so that we can help devise an engagement plan that best suits your needs.
